Friday, June 13, 2025, was the day for the symbolic handover ceremony of 98 motorcycles to partners of the AVENIR project (Empowerment through the Promotion of Agricultural and Rural Entrepreneurship, Sensitive to Inclusive Nutrition and Resilient to Climate Change). These motorcycles are intended to facilitate the travel and activities of partners in the field, which underlines the project's commitment to strategic planning and strengthening means of action on the ground, according to the terms of reference related to this activity.

The mission of symbolic handover of motorcycles to the partners of the AVENIR project within its provincial branches (Kongo Central, Kwango, Kwilu and Maï-Ndombe) aims to strengthen partnerships, ensure the visibility of the project and operational improvement as well as institutional communication. Led by the National Coordinator Justinien Bacirongo Binyoma, the Administrative and Financial Manager and the Executive Assistant, the mission has a duration of 6 days from June 15 to 20, 2025.

What they said:

Secretary General Damas Mamba Mamba : « : "This ceremony contributes to the progress of the agricultural sector by providing support to those who assist us. Today's activity is in line with the vision of the Head of State, as embodied by the Minister of Agriculture, to put people back at the center of agricultural development. After the distribution of seeds and agricultural equipment, today is the handover of motorcycles, which are not to be used as means of transportation in the city or as public transportation, but to facilitate the travel of implementing partners in the provinces selected for the ongoing project. The purpose of today's ceremony is to contribute to the progress of the agricultural sector and provide support to those who assist us, allowing us to remain committed to the vision of the soil's revenge on the subsoil, so dear to the President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo. »

The Director of the Cabinet of the Minister of Agriculture, Lutaladio :

"We urge the beneficiaries of the motorcycles to use them as good fathers."

This activity is part of the process of realizing the vision of Head of State Félix Tshisekedi , who advocates the revenge of the soil over the subsoil, which is supported by the Government Action Program of Prime Minister Judith Suminwa and implemented on the ground by the Ministry of Agriculture. This is done in a facilitating manner to revitalize the agricultural sector and increase production.

To this end, we work with several partners and beneficiaries in the field. Most of our projects are funded by donors as well as technical and financial partners who provide on-the-ground support in terms of agricultural seeds, inputs, and vehicles to enable the mobility of field workers to support and monitor field activities.

But the most important thing for us is the results and not the speeches because we are a country with enormous potential in terms of climate, agriculture, biodiversity, third parties..., but our country is among the poorest on the planet, where more than 30 million inhabitants do not have enough to eat. This must stop through work on the ground and through production to increase the food supply and allow us to have adequate food sovereignty. This is why we urge the beneficiaries of the motorcycles to use them as good fathers..

Ms. Espérance Nzuzi, beneficiary representative:

"The AVENIR project has just set the record straight by recognizing our role as stakeholders."

It is with immense joy that I rise today to speak on behalf of Congo's agricultural producers to thank the Ministry of Agriculture for this motorcycle donation and for involving us in the AVENIR project from its inception to this day. As field technicians, we also want to be considered for our true worth as evaluators whenever projects are launched, especially since we hold the peasant knowledge inherited from our ancestors, which can help us provide scientific support to our government.

But we welcome the beginning of the beginnings taking place in this direction because we are now beneficiaries and stakeholders, unlike yesterday when we were not involved as stakeholders in what was being done in our favor. The AVENIR project has just set the record straight by recognizing our role as stakeholders.

Today's activity is commendable since the motorcycles will be of great use to us in carrying out our tasks, but we must take into account the improvement of agricultural access roads because motorcycles can only operate properly on roads in good condition.
